What is an Implant?

.

Implant is a screw made of alloys such as steel, titanium, vitalium or chrome cobalt and imitating the tooth root. Generally, implant teeth are made using titanium. Dental implants come in different shapes and lengths according to the need for treatment.

Briefly, as we mentioned above, implant applications have been tried with different materials for a long time. Its first applications appear as various stone, bone or simple metal parts.

Implant tooth consists of the following three parts:

First Section: The section where titanium screws of various shapes and lengths are located, fixed to the bone and replacing the tooth root.

Second Part: Intermediate element called abutment. The abutment is the part that acts as a buffer between the titanium screw and the artificial tooth crown.
Third Part: Artificial tooth crown, that is, the visible face of the tooth, also called the crown part. This prosthetic part is produced from materials such as porcelain or zirconium.
Implant teeth produced using titanium or its alloys; It is not affected by the enzymes in the mouth, which are of great importance in digestion. It is designed to withstand the pressure that will contribute to the most ideal chewing of food in the mouth. The chewing movement in the mouth creates an average of 40-50 kg of pressure. This pressure requires strong teeth, jawbones and muscles. Implant tooth is an ideal treatment method for those with tooth loss to regain a strong chewing function as before. Titanium, which is coated with some special methods, is made compatible with the oral tissues and the healing time is shortened at the same time.
